Ceremonious unveiling of latest position of donation barometer

On December 7, 2019 around 50 sponsors, donors, members of the project group, RhB and public officials, journalists, the board of historic RhB and guests met at the RhB Central Workshop at Landquart in order to celebrate something very special: the unveiling of the latest stand of the donation barometer at the “coal locomotive”.

Donator and club member Mrs. Doris Baeder, as well as Club 1889 project leader Armin Brüngger, under the astonished looks of the spectators, slowly lifted the paper covering the barometer, accompanied by a “flourishing ditty” with the accordeon. And the symbolic coal briquettes would never end: only the last three spaces remained “white”. The briquettes reflect a fund raising volume of 800.000 CHF!

The joy and pleasure of all participants about this wonderful result was felt throughout!

In an entertaining program, accompanied by background music of the “Wooden Class Soloists”, Roger Meier presented a cheque of 10.000 CHF in the name of the FairPhotographers and the most amusing and wittily donor actions were praised in form of some poets. Since many of the persons involved were present, they received a standing applause. In particular, project group leader Christian Meyer has emphasized the Train Festival at Bergün, the Village Festival of Schiers and the big fund raising tour of end of September.

RhB Director Renato Fasciati closed the familial event by expressing, in his short thank-you speech, his proud and joy about the fund raising result, thanking all involved in the name of Rhätische Bahn. Spontaneously he invited the group for a round tour through the big and top clean central workshop. This offer was gladly accepted by all present and rounded up the fund raising year in a perfect way.
