Workshop Progress Report January / February 2022

Following delivery of Rhaetia’s boiler to England on the 13th December 2021, the team at the  North Norfolk Railway (NNR)[ in Weybourne  have been busy. The crown stays have been severed, all the other stays carefully bored out avoiding damage to the outer wrapper including the palm stays. With the foundation ring free the inner firebox was ready for lifting out on the 10th February.

The Inner firebox will be replaced.

Preparation work in January

Ausgebohrte Kupfernieten / Bolzen (im Innern der Feuerbüchse)
Ausgebohrte Kupfernieten / Bolzen, ausserhalb der Feuerbüchse (dazu wurde der Kessel auf den Kopf gedreht)

Initial lift to separate the inner and outer elements.

  • Sorgfältiges Anheben der kupfernen Feuerbüchse
  • Die Feuerbüchse ist nun getrennt vom Kessel
