The dismantling of „RHÆTIA“ has begun

During the last two Tuesdays the dismantling of “RHÆTIA” begun at Central Depot of RhB at Landquart. The boiler including the fire box were removed from the loco frame under the supervision of Central Depot craftsman Reto Mark and was exposed of all sheet metal thereafter.

The craftsmen of Central Depot received support from Project Leader Armin Brüngger of Club 1889 and other helpers. All work steps and components are being documented meticulously on photos.

By carrying out those work steps the boiler and the fire box can now be examined in best manner and the invitation to tender for the new production of the copper fire box can be planned.
